Black on Black

I bought this sweater dress years ago, and it’s remained a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe ever since. It’s absolutely perfect, because it’s so versatile. I’ve worn it just about every way possible over the years. It’s been styled over a body con dress and worn as a vest to a simple sweater with leggings and riding boots. This look is definitely one of my favorite ways to style my sweater dress. I love wearing tights with details, because it’s a unique way to break up a solid colored outfit or mix and match patterns. I’m always a huge fan of the all black look, but the gold jewelry and belt coordinated with the lace patterned leggings is a fun way to make all black a bit more exciting.

For the Love of Sweaters

As the weather gets cooler, fashion becomes all about sweaters. Outfits often start to get repetitive with the classic leggings, boots, and oversized sweater combo. One way I like to change it up is with sweater dresses. They’re a great way to bring a usually warm weathered style into the colder months. I bought this sweater dress last year at H&M, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It has intricate patterned stitching on the collar down to the sleeves which makes it really unique. I also love it, because it’s a perfect way to pull off the winter white look without being over the top. I styled it with a chunky pearl necklace and heather grey boots. For days it’s really cold, tights are a fun addition to the look. Just throw a peacoat over it, and you’re ready to take on a chilly day in style.

Mixing it up

Just like the average girl, I always get sick of jeans. Although they’re arguably classic, they’re usually far from comfortable and overdone. I like being able to have other options to change up my look besides just wearing a skirt rather than jeans. Over the past year, I’ve been experimenting with cigarette pants, palazzos, and harem pants and they’ve definitely been a worthwhile investment to my wardrobe. They’re a variety of silhouettes, so it’s been a great way to take advantage of other items in my closet to pair with them. But definitely the most important benefit of harems are how comfortable they are! They’re not restricting like jeans and cigarette pants, but just as comfortable as your favorite pair of yoga pants. Comfort and fashion; the ultimate duo. I styled these cotton harems with a white crop top, oxblood leather jacket, and some of my favorite chunky, gold jewelry. Try pairing them with a cropped sweater and pair of booties for the colder weather!

Nineties Fall

This look is a mix of some of my favorite pieces for this season. Pleated skirts have been huge for fall this year. Channeling the nineties, I feel like I’m almost as fabulous as Cher in Clueless. If  only I had a matching blazer, it would’ve been perfect. At first, I wasn’t a huge fan of them, because it seemed like such a classic school girl look. When I continued shopping around what different brands were coming out with, the variety in the styles were really impressive. I love this window-pane print, because it has a classic look with a twist. These boots are also one of my absolute favorite pairs. I bought them at the end of the season sale at DSW in the Spring, and I’ve been dying to wear them ever since. I completed the look with a lightweight jacket with ruffle detailing at the bottom and a yellow top for a pop of color.
