Red Carpet Review: The Academy Awards 2015

One of the most important nights of the film industry also happens to be one of the most exciting nights in fashion. Last night the celebs graced the red carpet in extravagant gowns hoping to impress. I’m not sure if the fashion quite lived up to my expectations… but there were still a few stunners among the crowd. Many of the celebs went for a softer look with pale colors and feminine embellishments.

My best dressed celebrity of the night wasn’t even a movie star… Chrissy Teigen looked absolutely gorgeous in a powder blue Zuhair Murad gown. I may be bias with my love of Zuhair Murad, but she pulled the look together perfectly. I loved the soft waves and contrast of the dark lip to the light colored dress. Powder blue is extremely on trend for the season, and complimented the edgy dress well.

Another one of my favorites was Emma Stone. She’s one celebrity who’s not afraid to take chances, and I have so much respect for that. She wore a yellow-green Elie Saab gown. The color is very out of the box, but it looked great with her coloring. As always, Elie Saab gown’s have exquisite detail that looked beautiful.

Finally, I thought Gwyneth Paltrow made an interesting choice with her gown that definitely paid off. The detail on the sleeves was almost reminiscent of 1980’s fashion, but the sleekness of the rest of the gown was a nice contrast.

Some other celebrities who looked fabulous is pale toned gowns were Jennifer Lopez in a Elie Saab gown completely different from her usual style, Reese Witherspoon in a sleek black and white Tom Ford, and Lupita Nyong’o wearing a pearl detailed Prada.

Red Carpet Review: Golden Globes 2015

There’s not much I love more than award show season. Not so much for the actual show itself, but for the fabulous pre-show red carpet. The Golden Globes fashion started off the season the right way. So many of the celebs were dressed to the nines, but there were a few stand outs.

My absolute favorite look of the evening was Jennifer Lopez. Zuhair Murad makes the most exquisite dresses. They always have beautiful details and silhouette. Jennifer Lopez is definitely the perfect woman to pull off this look. She’s known for her knock out body, making her able to rock the deep V neckline and high slit.

I also loved Emma Stone’s Lavin jumpsuit. The sparkly detail and oversized bow made the look feminine and chic. It was so unique, but she definitely made it work.

Kate Hudson was show stopping on the red carpet in Versace. White seemed to be a common trend, but she stood out among them all. I’m not always a fan of cut outs, but the shape and detailing on them made it extremely flattering.

Other honorable mentions: Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein, Allison Williams in Armani Prive, and Jennifer Aniston in Saint Laurent.
