Summer has officially started, which means I’m back in the best city: Chicago. As much as I love Kent State, the atmosphere doesn’t quite compare to the ambiance of a big city. Lucky for me, my internship and free time adventures are allowing me to take full advantage. This outfit combines a few of my favorite elements: black, leather, and, of course, repping CHI. Graphics have been sweeping the fashion scene lately. The right graphic really allows for playful styling and personalized expression. I complemented the urban theme of my tank with edgy leather shorts, a black layering piece, and spiked statement necklace. This look is a great mix to the cliche florals of summer. Chicago may be the Second City but it’ll always be first in my heart.

Making a statement is what fashion is all about. With colder weather coming, it’s time to bundle up which can mean hiding some of our favorite pieces under layer upon layer. On the other hand, this also allows the opportunity to make a statement in more creative ways. Finding the perfect jacket, scarf, or pair of boots can completely transform a drab outfit. It’s probably obvious I’m almost obsessed with boots. Finding unique pairs and complementing them with jackets is a great way to make your fall look stand out. Jackets are actually my favorite item to thrift, because there’s so many unique cuts and colors that you don’t always see in the department stores. Don’t be afraid to try something new and make a statement this fall.

There are few things I adore more than neutrals, pops of red, and leather. If I could only wear those for the rest of my life, I would be more than satisfied. It’s finally acceptable to rock leather pants again, and I couldn’t be happier. I styled them with an offset preppy cropped sweater and a black as an eye catching layering piece. It also would’ve looked great with a faux fur or leather vest. Obviously to make a statement, I added my favorite red pumps and lipstick for a fun pop of color.

I think everyone can agree that the best part of fall fashion is layering. The weather can range from chilly, grey mornings to summer like afternoons all in one day. The best solution to this: lots of layers. I love this outfit, because it keeps the eye’s attention as the colors and fabrics blend together to create a whole look. I started with the black and white striped skort and added the draped white top to complement the asymmetrical cut. To add a pop of fall color, I layered a burgundy leather jacket perfect for fall mornings. Try an outfit like this for long day on campus or spending time exploring the city!

It’s finally just about my favorite time of the year again: fall. The season of perfect fashion, mild weather, beautiful scenery, and tasty treats; what could possibly be better?Burgundy and black practically take up my entire wardrobe, so there’s nothing more fitting than to create an outfit around those for my first post of the season. I couldn’t wait to bring out my favorite leather heeled boots for this season. I accessorized them with burgundy knee highs to accentuate the red in the cropped flannel. Since the sun is usually still quite warm around this time, I kept a more summery silhouette but used fabrics that best represent the upcoming season. There’s nothing more perfect than head to toe leather and flannel to welcome back fall.

No matter the season, my love for leather never really stops. This leather skater skirt consistently ends up in my outfit whether it’s paired with a tank or sweater. In a previous post, I styled it with a cashmere crop top, long sweater and knee high leather boots. I decided to stick with a similar theme and style it with another sweater crop top, except this one is much more lightweight. I also added a layering item like in the last outfit as well. The vest is a cream leather with gold hardware making it much more appropriate for summer. Leather ends up being more versatile than meets the eye with a little creativity.
